About a3

a3 is the first student-run conference at UCI School of Law, and examines the social injustices faced by vulnerable populations who are disproportionately affected by climate change. The one-day event explores and strategizes ways to address climate justice through the power of law, policy, and coalition building. This blog is set up to allow participants to comment and discuss conference ideas while the conference is happening.

Building off the traditional conference, A3 aims to give agency to the ideas and ideals presented in conferences by creating a new network of people in Southern California committed to climate justice.

ASSEMBLE
practitioners, academics, and rising young professionals who are both committed and ready to lead on issues of climate justice.

ADVOCATE
for the rights of climate change victims. A3 allows participants to learn about and strategize effective ways for relief, implicating climate change migration and indigenous rights, constitutional rights to environment, and climate change litigation.

ACT
together to create a strong coalition of leaders in Southern California. A3 will bring together the region’s leading environmental and human rights organizations, where participants can learn about and joint their campaigns. In addition, participants will be able to exchange and express their ideas via live Facebook and Twitter discussions, coffee breaks and a cocktail reception.
