Last November, Rachel Gurlin was awarded the Public Impact Distinguished Fellowship, a $12000 award to support doctoral students whose current research has the potential for substantial impact in the public sphere. She also had the opportunity to lobby in Sacramento during Graduate Research Advocacy Day for continued funding of graduate research at the University of California by speaking with California lawmakers about her project.
