Welcome to the BFSA family here at UC Irvine. We are happy you found us!
Originally founded in 1980, the Black Staff and Faculty Association was designed to provide a sense of purpose for those African American faculty and staff here on the Irvine Campus. The goal was to create a presence here on the campus that would be visible, supportive, nurturing, and productive in serving the needs of the African American community. BFSA currently serves as a central point of information exchange to the Black community at large which includes students, faculty, and staff. As an organization looking out for the best interest of its membership, we strive to provide a support system for all faculty and staff of the African Diaspora working here at UC Irvine.
During this time of the Corona Virus pandemic, we want you to know that we are still here for you. It is certainly a difficult time, however, our ancestors have taught us that we have persevered through much tougher life challenges and we will get through this. Please take care of yourselves and your families. We are ALL important to this community and are essential to its life and success. We look forward to brighter, and better days ahead. As the late Dr. Joseph L.White would say,
“Keep the faith”.
