All bilingual teacher positions found on EDJOIN are immediately posted on Facebook’s Bilingual Teacher page. For the past two years, bilingual teacher openings have posted earlier than June; some held interviews as early as March. The majority of dual language immersion schools in the local Orange County school districts require a Bilingual Authorization in the target language. Traditional school districts, such as Capistrano and Saddleback Valley Unified, are very strict and will not interview potential bilingual teachers without this additional authorization. Surrounding charter schools also require or prefer a teacher with a Bilingual Authorization for their dual language programs, but have more flexibility when hiring.
Although local Orange County school districts are hiring earlier than before, there are many job openings posted well into the summer months. There is a great demand for bilingual teachers because of the rapid growth in dual language immersion programs from Sacramento to San Diego and across the nation.
