Shop Crew Assignments Drama 101 Shop Crew gives you flexibility with your work hours, but they must be while the shops are open – usually 8am – 5pm, Monday – Friday. Working in a shop is a great option if you are interested in learning more about construction or maintenance, or if you are only able to fulfill specific hours during the day.
- Production Studio: The Production Studio is where scenic elements are built and loaded-in for our Drama and Dance Shows. In the production studio you can expect to work with tools to build scenery, paint, and help to clean and maintain the shop. Their hours are from 7:30am – 4:30pm. No prior experience is necessary to work in the Production Studio, but you will need to wear solid shoes and clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty or painted.
- Prop Shop: In the prop shop, our Properties Supervisor provides all of the hand props, furniture and set dressing for our shows. Experience in construction or crafts is preferred.
- Costume Shop: In the costume shop you will assist with the creation and maintenance of costumes for our Drama and Dance shows. You will be required to attend classes at specific times to learn basic sewing skills.
- Electrics Shop: In the electrics shop, you will work to maintain, hang and focus lights under the supervision of our Electrics Supervisor.
- Audio Shop: In the audio shop, you will work to maintain and install audio equipment under the supervision of our Audio Supervisor.
If one of these Drama 101 Shop Crews sound right for you, join us on the Friday of Fall Quarter Week 1 between 3:30-5 pm; the Shop Heads will be available to meet with students interested in working on the Fall Shop Crews at the Production Office. The Shop Crew priority will be given to students who have an interest in the specific shop area, previous shop crew, and those who have schedule challenges working in the evenings.
