Honors Advisor Theresa Nguyen would like to invite you to join her in attending the keynote address of Matthew Desmond, the recipient of the 12th Annual Human Security Award presented by UCI’s Blum Center for Poverty Alleviation. Desmond was awarded a MacArthur Genius grant in 2015 for his ground-breaking work on the impact of eviction. His book, Evicted: Poverty and Profit in the American City was named one of the top books of 2016 by dozens of organizations and publications ranging from The NY Times, The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal to Buzzfeed. Desmond is a professor of social science at Harvard University.
