Already an honors student so why not be an honors leader? Think of all the events you’ve loved this year – coffee hour, hummus core, pumpkin decorating, and much more. Now is your chance to get involved and help plan and develop these events. 2017-2018 Campuswide Honors Program Student Council (CHSC) elections and applications are just around the corner!
The exciting season to form our new council will begin with President and Vice President nominations for the upcoming year at the CHSC meeting on Wednesday, April 19th, from 5pm-6pm. Come out to this meeting if you’d like to nominate someone, nominate yourself, or just see who is nominated for the positions! Please keep in mind that in order to hold President/Vice President positions next year you must have held a CHSC executive position and have experience planning events/programs. For details in regards to requirements please look at the CHSC constitution under article III. You can find the CHSC constitution here.
Looking to be on council but maybe in a role other than President or Vice President? If you are interested in being Secretary, Treasurer, Historian, Design Chair, Social Chair, Academic Chair, Fundraising Chair, or Community Service Chair applications will open on Wednesday, April 19th and close at 12pm on Monday, May 8th. In order to apply for any of these positions you MUST attend at least THREE CHSC meetings prior to applying. CHSC meetings are every Wednesday at 5pm in the Locus. The details and expectations of these roles are available in the CHSC constitution linked above.
CHSC is a great way to influence and help the honors community you know and love! Unsure of whether to apply? Come to a meeting to check us out! We love meeting new faces and appreciate new voices and opinions! If you have any questions feel free to speak with any current council members about their experience or email current President Vicky Nguyen (victorbn@uci.edu) or Vice President Rosalind (Rosie) Ball (raball@uci.edu).
Be a leader and make your next year with the CHP the best it can be! 🙂
