The Cloisters Summer Internship

Social Science Research Assistants Wanted

Doctoral student Robert Kalinowski and Professor Drew Bailey would like to invite UCI Honors participants to apply to be trained in field research methods and to help execute an experiment designed to help young children learn spatial and math skills.

Nuclear Reactor Tour

Have you ever heard tales of the nuclear reactor that lies beneath our very own Rowland Hall?  On Friday of Week 3 (January 27th) from 11:30 – 1:00 PM, the CHP will be venturing down to the basement of the building and taking a tour of this fabled reactor facility!  If you are interested in attending, please come to the CHP Office by Friday, January 20th and sign up for the tour! Spaces are limited, so make sure to sign up as soon as possible if you would like to attend! *SSP*

If you know a current UCI student who belongs in the CHP, tell them to apply!  The CHP is now accepting applications from current freshmen, sophomores, and first-year transfer students.  Students who have a UCI GPA of 3.5 or higher in 12 or more graded units may be eligible to apply.  Please sign up for our CHP info session for current UCI students on Wednesday, Jan. 11 3-4 p.m. in Student Services II, room 1010 and feel free to pass this information along to your friends at UCI.


Attention CHP Transfer Students!

First-Year Transfer Students: Come to the MANDATORY winter CHP Transfer Workshop on Monday, Jan. 30 from 4:30-6:30 p.m. OR Tuesday, Jan. 31 from 4:30-6:30 p.m. in Student Services II, room 1010. Attendance is REQUIRED. The workshop will cover how to start research, the honors thesis, and campus resources; it will provide you the opportunity to reconnect with fellow CHP students. A light dinner will be served. Please sign up for one of the MANDATORY Workshops online by Wednesday, Jan. 25.

Continuing Transfer Students: We need you to volunteer for this year’s Winter CHP Transfer Workshop! First-year transfer students will appreciate hearing your experiences of and insights into conducting research (over a light dinner). Volunteers are needed to be on a panel during the last part of the workshop: 5:30-6:30 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 30 and/or Tuesday, Jan. 31.
