One of my life goals is to see as much of the world as possible. This program is a great opportunity to travel out of the country because it incorporates education and studies along with travel, rather than just a tour alone.

I had the chance to participate on a team, in a program called Operation Green Sweep, where we completed various community projects, such as beach and park clean ups, mending gardens in public recreational areas, and providing service to the local food bank. But experience with sustainability can be as much as the basics of turning out the lights when leaving a room and removing plugs from outlets when they are not in use.

I am incredibly excited to compare the ways of living between people in Costa Rica and America, who rely upon different resources and live in drastically different geographical locations. Aside from the presentations to be given after we come back, I am looking forward to talking about my experience and sharing it with my hall in Mesa Court as well as friends and family.
