While living in California for college, I’ve been able to find pieces of me that I never found at home. I love traveling. I love being in a new place and exploring the many opportunities that a new place can bring. Someday, I plan to move to the East Coast to study law, and I just hope that my travels, adventures, and tribulations will lead to a future that I will love and that will make my parents proud. So far, I’ve been to 13 different states and 4 different countries during my 20 years, and I only hope to explore the world more.

I currently serve as the Resident Advisor of the Global Sustainability hall in Mesa Court, and every day, my residents and I are learning and growing together. I am also an Environmental Education Intern with the Orange County CoastKeepers. This past year, I’ve enjoyed sharing my values and ideals for creating a more sustainable world with my residents and the students I am humbled to work with, and I hope to inspire them to work towards something bigger and greater than themselves. Along with that, I’m also a mentor in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program of Orange Country, an undergraduate research assistant in Cognitive NeuroPharmacology, and a cadet in the United States Army ROTC program here at UCI.

This year, I look forward to sharing my experience and skills in global sustainability and research and hope to motivate my counterparts to truly get the most out of their experience in the classroom and in Costa Rica. With that, I also hope to gain a lot of experience while I push myself to look further and drive past my limits. Every day will be a new adventure that I hope to uncover, and I look forward to further developing my strengths and challenging my weaknesses no matter where I go, stateside or not. Due to my love for sustainability and educating, I plan to conduct a research project pertaining to youth development in Costa Rica. The one thing I’m looking forward to most is interacting with the culture and understanding the similarities and differences that constitute the part of the country that we will be residing in. I want to truly understand the diversity that I will have the pleasure of interrelating with during my time there.
