Before UC Irvine, I was a part of the Environment Club and participated in small recycling acts at home and at school. I did not know much about sustainability, but college had made me more aware of this global issue and how it plays a part in our daily lives. I hope to ultimately learn more from this program about how I can change my lifestyle and potentially change the world.
I am currently a Community Assistant at Vista del Campo Norte, a member of ASUCI’s Anteaters in Action, a member of U See Eyes, and a board member of UCI Fresh S.T.A.R.T, a club that provides tutoring and programs for kids of refugee families. I am grateful to be a part of this program, hope to gain an overall learning experience from CRP, and want to share my experiences to make a difference in the world at large. I further hope to gain insight and perspective on sustainability and immerse myself in another culture and apply all that I learn in my daily life. I hope to contribute positivity, open-mindedness, eagerness to learn and try new things, love for adventure, and my willingness to create a better future for the CRP team this year. I look forward to further getting to know my other team members, being surrounded by the beauty of nature and a new cultural environment, and to learn, take endless adventures, and make everlasting memories.
