UC Irvine receives their water from the Irvine Ranch Water District. The district recently sent out a notice of proposed water and sewer rate change that is highly relevant to this project happening at UCI. The state of California is currently trying to achieve a 25% reduction in potable urban water use. Projects like “Conservation through Creation,” can not only help in the reduction of general water use, but bring awareness to the scarce resource of potable water here in California.
