Michelle Chihara
Assistant Professor, Department of English
Whittier College
Michelle Chihara is at work on a project which analyzes narratives about real estate during the bubble that preceded the financial crash of 2008. She is interested in the psychological excess displayed in the economic behavior of hoarding, and its role in the most recent crisis, as well as the construction of “common sense” across different forms of culture, from contemporary American novels to reality television, during asset bubbles and economic crises.
