The Development in Social Context (DISC) lab is focused on promoting the healthy development of children by understanding and improving their social interactions. Research projects range from interventions with parents and infants to high school students’ interactions over social media. Common among these home, school, and technology-based research endeavors is the understanding that children are embedded in a social context in which they influence and are influenced by the settings and people around them. This lab is a collaborative effort between faculty, graduate students, and undergraduate students interested in understanding and improving the development of children.
