On June 7, 2009, Dr. Sheila Schuller Coleman, 2007 graduate of the CSU/UCI Joint Ed.D. in Educational Administration and Leadership, became co-leader, along with her father the Reverend Robert Schuller, of the Crystal Cathedral in Garden Grove, California, and the television ministry Hour of Power.  An accomplished author, Dr. Coleman previously served as Principal of the Crystal Cathedral Academy, Director of Family Ministries, and Superintendent of Crystal Cathedral Schools.

Dr. Coleman entered the joint Ed.D. program in 2004. Her 2007 dissertation, entitled Raising The Curtain On Theatre Arts For Latinos: Finding Voice, Cultural Capital, Literacy, And Ethnic Identity In High School Theatre Arts Classes, explored the benefits Latino high school students derived from participating in drama classes and productions.
