2010: Graphic Novel Project
In Antoinette LaFarge’s spring 2010 Graphic Novel course at UC Irvine, the students created a complete 20-page graphic novella based on an updated myth or folktale. They had just 8 weeks to take their original novellas from concept through writing and artwork to print and web publication.

2006: Speed Design Project

Joseph Kosuth page from speed-design project
Students in the 2006 Digital Typography and Communication course did a project called “The Sixty Twenty-Four Speed Type Artists Project,” the goal of which was to create a postcard about a modern artist within a narrow set of design constraints, including a very short working time. The chosen artists ranged from Charles Demuth to Jenny Holzer, Roy Lichtenstein to the Guerrilla Girls.
