When Was CNN Taken Over by the Koch Brothers?

I left CNN on while I was cleaning house, and was treated to the largest amount of unchallenged climate nonsense. I didn’t keep notes, but the continuous speaker was Stephen Moore of the Heritage Foundation Funded by the Koch Brothers. Then EPA Destroyer Scott Pruitt, funded by the Hamm, Oklahoma’s richest oilman, Harold Hamm, at the Presidential news conference. Finally, a Professor took apart Stephen Moore.

Some of the same erroneous economic statements that Trump made were repeated by Moore, which came from NERA Economic Consultants, funded by Coal and the Chamber of Commerce. What causes us to blame CNN, is that their study was not relevant to the Paris Agreement, and were savaged by the real press for 24 hours, but not challenged by CNN interviewers.

The climate nonsense started by claiming that with the Paris agreement commitments only, not the planned continuing agreements, would only make a 0.2 degree Celsius by 2100, according to an MIT study. The authors of the study said they were misunderstood in the press. CNN did not challenge this. Another MIT study showed that the difference was really 0.9 degrees Celsius or 1.6 degrees F. This would double the amount of warming since the start of industrial times. Without news interviewers immediately challenging conservatives, we are going to hear the nonsense 0.2 degrees for the rest of our lives.

I forgot, California congressman and climate science denier Tom McClintock skipped around uncertainly between tens of thousands and millions of years ago. He never cited anything as rapid as the temperature rise which occurred in the last 70 years.

Scott Pruitt, speaking from the White House which doesn’t have a science advisor, almost got away with saying that their was a climate warming pause since the late 1990s. He was caught by someone in the vast press Corp, who pointed out that the year in question, 1998, was an extreme El Niño year. The challenger forgot to mention that the fluctuation went back down the next year, and other rises since then were real rises. Since 95% of the heating actually goes into the ocean, it has been shown that the ocean has continued heating.

Pruitt would not admit that the warming was mostly man-made. It has been established by measuring Carbon isotopes in the atmosphere, that all of the CO2 increase comes from the burning of fossil fuels.

Even while neither Trump, Spicer, or Pruitt would admit that Trump was a climate science denier, or still thinking it was a Chinese hoax, Trump did insult the Europeans and Chinese, claiming they were taking the US for an economic disadvantage ride.
CNN can hire an occasional climate science advisor for a lot less than it is paying the principals or the Koch brothers servants. It is absolutely irresponsible for them to broadcast hours of paid Koch nonsense without challenges, or mentioning that the major papers had already showed that it was bunk.

Also not mentioned was that Scott Pruitt was already buying out 3,200 EPA scientists, as required by Trump’s proposed 2018 budget, without even waiting Congress to vote on the new budget. This is 20% of the EPA, and probably the more experienced scientists.

I think that if my salary was being paid by the Government, I would not be leaving Friday afternoon so early that I could not answer press questions on the most important issue of the day, as Pruitt did.  If his employer was Donald Trump, he would certainly be fired.
