This lecture and discussion event explored the impact of gentrification on San Francisco’s Latino dominant Mission District neighborhood. Special attention was be given to both: 1) how gentrification processes erase the cultural and related footprints of immigrant and minority groups, and 2) explored mitigation strategies being developed by local entrepreneurs and cultural groups that are helping create new spaces where conversations about commonalities, cooperation, community and the future are needed, left to rise, and baked.
