National Endowment for the Humanities Summer 2020 Internship Program

The National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) is an independent federal agency that provides support to advance and disseminate knowledge in all of the disciplines of the humanities: history, literature, linguistics, archaeology, jurisprudence and the history, criticism and theory of the arts. In support of the NEH mission, the NEH Pathways Internship Program provides paid opportunities for current students accepted for enrollment in qualifying educational programs. Postdoctoral Fellowship in Women’s and Public History, Mellon Foundation

The Mellon Foundation is seeking applicants for a two-year postdoctoral fellowship in Women’s and Public History at the New York Historical Society’s Center for Women’s History. The fellow will create interpretive and pedagogical aspects of the Center’s programming, serve as editor-in chief for the “Women at the Center” blog, work on exhibitions, coordinate the annual Dianne and Adam E. Research Associate, University of Bonn Center for Dependency and Slavery Studies 

The University of Bonn in Germany is seeking applicants for a three year position at the Bonn Center for Dependency and Slavery Studies. A total of 10 positions are available. Journal Of Asian Studies GSR Opportunities

The Journal of Asian Studies, based in the History Department at UC Irvine, is accepting applications for two Graduate Student Researcher positions (GSR). Duties of both positions include assisting the Editor in the management and production of the Journal of Asian Studies. JAS is seeking one part-time Graduate Student Researcher (4 to 8 hours per week) from May 1, 2019-August 31, 2019. This position may be extended for the 2019-2020 academic year. Additionally, the journal is looking to hire a part-time Graduate Student Researcher starting September 1, 2019. The position consists of a 50% appointment, with an expectation of 20 hours per week. The gross monthly salary at 50% is approximately $2,243.00/month. This appointment is available for up to 12 months, and it can be renewed; it also includes graduate tuition and fee remission during the academic year. Click on the link above to learn more.

Career Development Internship, Academic Year 2019-2020 

The History Department will offer one career development internship for AY 19-20 for a PhD student in good standing. The student intern will work 20 hours per week, receiving compensation as a GSR (Graduate Student Researcher). Remuneration consists of fees and a stipend, equivalent to working as a TA. The department invites proposals from students who seek to diversify their professional development by gaining work experience beyond their dissertation research and undergraduate classroom teaching.
