This week we will look at how poetry and dramatic performance can be used to combat the problem of bullying in public schools. The goal is to empower children with words, phrases, and strategies that they can use to defend themselves, as well as the self-confidence and self-esteem to use them effectively.
Learning Objectives for Week 9:
- Describe words, phrases, and strategies students can use to fend off bullies
- Explain how adults can help children develop healthy habits of mind
- Define “virtue” and “role model” as Aristotle understood these terms.
- Understand where and how families of students who are on the autism spectrum can get professional help in coaching their student to succeed
