Congrats to our STARS who completed the program!

A big Anteater Congratulations are in order for Stephanie R., Johnny W., Jocelyne A., Michelle S., and Sandy H. as they completed and collected their STARs certificates and book store gift cards!

Life, school, work, make us all so busy yet these 5 managed their time and priorities and truly dedicated themselves to the STARs program. Balancing these priorities is no easy task and they deserve all the praise and congratulations possible!

In addition to completing the program and getting their book store gift cards, they all leave a little bit more knowledgeable and prepared for their future careers or advanced studies.

The STARs Leaders wish all of you the best of luck!

Additional Elective Workshop and Final Five!

The last workshop to be added to our Elective opportunities is the Library Career Panel

Come discover the different types of position offered at our UCI Libraries. Hear the stories of their journey to becoming a Anteater Library employee as well as their learning their responsibilities and contributions to making our libraries function.

Join the UCI Libraries Multimedia Resource Center as they host two workshops this quarter that count towards your electives!

  • Basic Sound Recording
    • Learn about the basics of sound recording, the types of equipment available to them at MRC and the types of licensed and open source sound recording software available to students.
    • May 7, 2019; 5 pm – 6 pm

  • Introduction to DSLR Photography
    • Learn about basic DSLR camera settings for photography/videography and the types of imaging licensed software and computing equipment available at MRC.

Community Building; Monday, April 15th, 2019, from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. Counseling Center Conference Room. Discussing the importance of finding community, and how to foster a strong, cohesive team.

Test Anxiety and Stress Management; Monday, April 22, from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. Counseling Center Conference Room. Explore ways to help you reduce and cope with stress during exam season.

 

Microaggressions and Cultural Awareness; Thursday, April 25 from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. Dr. White Room at the Cross – Cultural Center.

Interpersonal Relationships; Monday, April 29, from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. Counseling Center Room. How to maintain healthy relationships.

If you go to these sessions, be sure to get credit for them!

To get credit, be sure to grab one of the forms pictured below.

Check out these electives!

Write or sign your name on the left side of the sheet (by the flower/leaves) and take a photo of it (it can even be a selfie!)
Then send that picture to your STARs leader.

Howdy STARS,

It’s that time of the quarter again! And the Libraries are here to help.

A quick reminder that Langson Library is now open 24 hours. And if you prefer the Science Library, it will remain open till 2 AM. There are also free Mightnight Munchies (snack!) at both locations while supplies last. Good luck!
