Job Titles: Senior / Research Engineer (job code SSCI-2112)
Level: Ph.D. or MSc with 3-5 years experience in Control and Estimation and Software Engineering.  Additional experience in Aerospace Systems Guidance, Navigation and Control is highly desirable.  For senior position, either more experience or Ph.D. is desirable.
Location: Full-time opportunities are currently available for work near Pasadena, CA  at JPL.
Duties: R&D, software and systems engineering, implementation, testing and support for advanced technology development in guidance, navigation and controls (GNC) systems, mission planning systems, and intelligent control systems. The successful applicants will contribute to the development, integration, and test of autonomous and unmanned space systems.
Required Experience: 3~5 years experience using C/C++ for development of real-time, flight-based, test control or instrumentation systems.

1~3 years experience in a team-based software development process.

1~3 years experience using Matlab/Simulink for system analysis and design.

Additional experience necessary for senior position.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Desirable Experience: Experience in real-time software engineering for mission planning, flight controls or avionics, or unmanned vehicles.

Experience in programming / optimizing software for fixed-point DSP processors.

Experience with formal systems and software engineering processes (software planning, design, development tools, configuration management, test and QA methods).
