Loyola Marymount University Teaching Need
The Mechanical Engineering Department Chair at Loyola Marymount University
is looking for someone with expertise in the Thermal Sciences design area:
Thermodynamics, Heat Transfer, Heat Exchangers,etc. This is an ongoing
course – prior course material is available to the instructor.
They need a part time instructor in an undergraduate, senior-level course:
MECH 423 – Thermal Systems Engineering.
The need is for Fall 2012 – semester starts August 27, 2012.
Course meeting time is 3:00 to 6:00 on Wednesdays. The enrollment for
this course is unlikely to exceed a dozen students.
Course description:
Thermal Systems Engineering, 3 Semester Hours
Selected topics from thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer to
include: review of fundamental concepts; boundary layer theory; isentropic
flow through nozzles; shock waves; energy analysis; gas mixtures; heat
exchangers and design. Lecture, 3 hours. Prerequisites: MECH 223, 322,
323.
