I am currently a PhD Candidate in sociology at UC Irvine. I am broadly interested in issues of disability and the family, and my research looks at the effects of having a sibling with a disability on children’s outcomes such as behavioral problems, risk-taking behaviors, and educational attainment. I am also interested in gender, race, inequality, education, and mixed method approaches.
I spent last summer at the U.S. Census Bureau where I worked as an intern on projects that link outside data to the American Community Survey.
I also spent the summer of 2014 in Tokyo as an NSF fellow researching health and functioning among older Japanese adults.
Prior to entering the PhD program at UC Irvine, I completed my MA in Sociology at UC Riverside.
