Fabrication Tools:
-
Full Spectrum Muse LASER cutter: This laser cutter is powered by CO2 technology with a water cooling system. Most of the material cut on-board is acrylic, but the laser cutter can handle types of wood, some metals, and plastics
-
3D Printers: Our printers use plastic filament to construct what we have designed on our software. We have been experimenting with 3D model rockets.
Programing Tools:
-
Raspberry Pi3 computers: These small computers have the potential to be programmed to perform an array of tasks. We’ve established two different stations for learners to experience the Raspberry Pi3.
Station 1 –> Sonic Pi: Learners create their own music by imputing basic lines of code into the program interface. Here, they will learn fundamental principles behind running lines of code.
Station 2 –> Apollo-Soyuz Simulation: While using this program learners will be able to experience the SenseHat add-on to the Raspberry Pi. They will get a chance to move the Pi about in their hands while the movement of the Pi is picked up by the SenseHat and displayed on the monitor.
