Since you made it to this page, you probably want to know something about me. I’m not really sure what to write on pages like this, but I’ll give it a shot.
I was raised as an only child, although I have an older brother, Brian. I’ve moved all over the country with my parents (8 states and counting), and the phrase “home is where the heart is” definitely applies (and appeals) to me.
I met my future wife Amanda in 2001 on the first day of undergrad at Virginia Tech. My Dad lost his career job at Sam’s Club in January 2002, and after 6 months of searching he moved us to Colorado. Over the next 4 years, I gained a lot of life experience and earned my Bachelors degree in Business/Computer Information Systems (CIS) from Mesa State College (now Colorado Mesa University). In 2005, Amanda and I officially started dating (it took a while). I moved to Virginia to be with her and started graduate school at Virginia Tech (Accounting and Information Systems). 2008 was a busy year. I graduated in May, we got married in June (Ft. Myers Beach, Florida), and in July we moved across the country to Irvine. UCI had accepted Amanda into the PhD program in Sociology . I was lucky enough to receive an job offer from the Dean of Students, and started on July 8, 2008. My funding was shifted over to Student Affairs IT in 2010, and I joined OIT during phase 2 of the campus-wide consolidation soon after.
I work closely with Steve Tajiri, Rob Espero, and Angela Han. My primary duties focus on PHP web development, SLL/SA server administration (VMware, OSX, Windows, and Linux), and CORE Accounts web and email hosting. PHP projects I have worked on include (but aren’t limited to) Summer Orientation/SPOP reservations, Campus Organizations registration, and Disability Services signups.
