New UCI Faculty Papers available now
In an earlier post, we introduced our efforts to provide researchers with access to unprocessed collections. We will continue to share brief information about recently “exposed” collections here in the “New & Noteworthy Collections” blog.

Jack Peltason Papers (MS-F019)
This collection contains papers from Jack Peltason, founding Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs at UC Irvine, UC Irvine Chancellor from 1984 to 1992, and President of the University of California from 1992-1995. There are materials from his early academic career, his years as President of the University of California and from his post retirement years. The papers include correspondence, subject files, awards and honors, and information about this professional service. Extent 25.1 linear feet (25 boxes and 1 oversized folder).
Roland Schninzinger (MS-F021)
This collection consists of conference and journal papers, reports and correspondence from Roland Schinzinger from 1965-1990. In 1966, he was the first student at the University of California, Irvine, to earn a Ph.D and was a member of the founding faculty. He was a professor in UC Irvine’s Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science until his retirement in 1993. Extent 0.4 linear feet (1 box)
Seymour Menton Papers (MS-F022)
This collection contains the professional papers of Seymour Menton, the founding chair of the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures at the University of California, Irvine, and Professor Emeritus of Spanish and Portuguese. His papers reflect his 55-year career in teaching and writing in the field of Latin American literature. Included are research notes, book reviews, correspondence, class material, class reviews, curriculum vitae, journal articles, and two boxes of monographs. Extent 15.0 linear feet (15 boxes).
R. Duncan Luce Papers (MS-F028)
This collection consists of papers about R. Duncan Luce’s service to the University of California, Irvine, and a set of reprints of his authored articles. Luce joined the UC Irvine faculty in 1972, but left to teach at Harvard in 1976. He rejoined the UC Irvine faculty as Distinguished Professor of Cognitive Sciences and (from 1988 to 1998) and Director of the Institute for Mathematical Behavioral Sciences at UCI. Extent 5.0 linear feet (5 boxes).
Alfred M. Bork Papers (MS-F035)
This collection comprises materials documenting the career of Alfred Bork, University of California, Irvine Professor of Physics, Information and Computer Science, as well as founder and director of the Educational Technology Center. Included are files that document Bork’s professional activities and projects, writings which include drafts of Bork’s published works, professional correspondence, and publications to which Bork created contributed. There are also course files, presentation materials and numerous unidentified slides, 8 inch floppy disks, 3 inch floppy disks, and one film reel. Extent 18.0 Linear feet (24 boxes.).
