Brick Breaker~!

So blue!

Goodbye 2010, hello 2011! And hello to all you Zot Blog readers as well! Break is over and for some reason, I’m both sad yet excited for Winter quarter. I hope you all had a good break as well! (:

So what about food…? Well, once break started I never went back down to Irvine, so my food post for this week will be about a place that I visited recently. How recently? Tonight in fact!

Remember Diamond Jamboree (from this post?) Well I visited there again – this time to Guppy House, which is quite literally, right across Ajisen.

I forgot to take a picture of the spicy chicken that I had but let me tell you… it was pretty delicious! It’s just like the one that you can find over at Cha, except for me it was a lot spicier and crispier.

Honestly, I only ate that and the highlight of my visit, dessert! Did you know they have this amazing thing called brick toast? It’s basically a GIANT piece of toast and, depending on what you order, is covered in delicious goodness.

Me… I’m a lover of dark chocolate so I got the dark chocolate brick toast with strawberries. It takes about 15 minutes to prepare (or so it says on the menu – I didn’t really time it) and it sure is well worth the wait! The dark chocolate brick toast is covered in dark chocolate, with strawberries on the side, then drizzled with condensed milk. Though I was already pretty full from the chicken, I could honestly eat that whole thing up if I were given the chance. The strawberries really go well with the sweetness of the dark chocolate – and they help me stick with my New Year’s resolution to eat more fruit! ^^

DARK. CHOCOLATE. BRICK. TOAST. ♥♥♥

om nom nom~ ALL DONE!

I can’t really say much for Guppy House’s other foods, but honestly, if you go there and like dark chocolate you MUST order that brick toast. You won’t be disappointed! I also hear that their shaved ice is extremely delicious, though I didn’t bother to try it because it was freezing! (That, and I’m not a big fan of shaved ice.)

They even have fish! (Though I don't think that's a guppy.)

Though Guppy House’s reviews on Yelp aren’t that amazing, my visit was definitely a positive one. The place is a tad bit small though (for only two people, my friend and I still had to wait!) so if you’re planning on coming with all your friends make sure you’re up for a wait or perhaps check if they take reservations.

Here’s the address and other info:

Only the start of Winter quarter and I’ve already had such a delicious meal to fill my ever-hungry belly. :’) I’m definitely looking forward to all the new places I’m going to eat at here in Irvine and I sure hope you do too! Until next time then…?

Stay nice and warm – especially when eating shaved ice!
