Jack Toan

Jack Toan currently serves as Vice President and Community Affairs Manager for Wells Fargo Community Relations. He was recently honored with the Distinguished Alumni Award at the 44th Annual UC Irvine Alumni Lauds & Laurels Awards Ceremony.

Jack was born in Hanoi, Vietnam in 1970 and left Vietnam in 1979 by boat from Hanoi. His family arrived in a Hong Kong refugee camp before being sponsored by a South Carolina Christian church looking to specifically sponsor a Chinese-Vietnamese refugee family. He attended a few years of school in South Carolina and then his family relocated to Orange County, California where he finished high school and attended college at UC Irvine. He met and married a non-Vietnamese woman and they have three children. At the time of the interview, he works for Wells Fargo Foundation, the charitable arm of the bank and is active among the Asian American community in Southern California.
