OCTOBER 2: BASIC 2-D PRINCIPLES

  • Deadline: Project One

  • Principles of two-dimensional composition: shape, scale, proportion, texture, form, color, rhythm, symmetry/asymmetry, etc.
  • Project Three: Box Deconstruction

OCTOBER 7: WORKING WITH COLOR

  • Bring to class: printed copies of Projects Two and Three
  • Deadline: Project Three
  • The Critique.
  • Participatory critique of Project Three results.

  • In-class time on Project Four.
  • Tutorial Four: Color Theory and Basic Shapes (Chapter 5)

  • NOTE: By this date, you should have completed Projects 1-4, and Tutorials 1-6 (Chapters 1-3, 5-6, 8). These Projects may be graded at any time after this date. Grades will be based on your blog posts only.
