Studying for Exams

The exams may look daunting, but there are many great strategies you can utilize to become efficient. Generally, it is recommended that you study 100 hours per every hour that an exam takes. Thus, for the preliminary exams which each take 3 hours, it is recommended that people study for a total of 300 hours. However, most UCI students are smart enough to pass exams without needing to put in 300 hours. Most people 20 hours per week. This strategy accommodates a busy worker by having them study 2 hours each weekday and 5 each day of the weekend. However, there are many different strategies you can utilize.

Once you have put in a good amount of hours you must register to actually take the exam. Look up exam dates and plan on finishing your study hours right before the exam is held. Register following the directions and set a date!

Before the exam, make sure that you take many practice tests and create a study-guide to review. Good Luck!
