GeekED SDCC Panel

I have been invited to San Diego Comic Con as a panelist for the College/GeekEd portion of the “Comic Conference for Educators and Librarians” series. This year is the second year of a partnership between Comic-Con International and the San Diego Public Library to “explore the role comics play in promoting education and literacy for all ages.”

You can check out the lineup for the week of SDCC at their website: Comic Conference for Educators. This mini conference is free, but registration is required.

The panel I will participate in will offer a focus on games and play, not quite comics but related. And the panel still has the goal of providing educators and librarians with a broader understanding of how popular media (in this case digital media) has an impact on their students and scholarship.

If you’ll be at SDCC on Sunday I’ll hope you come by the public library and check it out! (But don’t forget to register in advance!)
