Hey Everyone,
On Sunday we’ll be touring a few of the participating locations for the Highway 62 Art Tours – a yearly open studio event held in the high desert as well as some of the year round spots in Joshua Tree. If you have any questions about the trip just reach out, let me know and I’ll do my best to answer them.
Stop 1 – Highway Sanctuary
Highway Sanctuary is a large-scale sculptural installation project and arts residency. Located directly across from the Dollar General on highway 247 it’s up the hill to the east and is easy to see spot thanks to the 99 Cent Store trailer parked on the property.
Stop 2 – 5 $ Pizza Place
Popular (also the only) pizza place in Landers. Quick stop for lunch here
Stop 3 – Cybele Rowe
Cybele Rowe is a sculptor working across multiple mediums, including large scale ceramic, foam, metal, and painting all of which are on shown across the landscape of her studio. Her Studio is right across the from the local elementary school.
Stop 4 – Downtown Joshua Tree
To complete our trip around the high desert we will be meeting in downtown Joshua Tree. We’ll be visiting some of the downtown galleries and shops which include – Art Queen, La Matadora, The World Famous Crotchet Museum, and Hey There Projects.

(One note about the Map – I have added in the landers post office not as a stop but to get google maps to provide a more efficient and more interesting drive to get us to downtown Joshua Tree – Google Maps is often not the best option for directions here in the desert.)
