Reminders for 11/9
Dear Art 251,
Thank you for another energizing session last week. Here are some more bullets from me.
- Please re-read the bulleted list below and make sure you’ve done all the things.
- Specifically, I note a dearth of posts. Please join our course website and contribute one thing! Anything! Sausages!
- Have you contributed to the Collaborative Reader yet? Please don’t make us chase you down individually.
- Need anything documented or measured this weekend? Send me your requests. So far I have assignments from Obi and “Interior Lighting.” (If I missed something, please send it again.)
- Revised schedule for this Wednesday @ https://uci.zoom.us/my/jessecolinjackson
- 7:00-7:30: Interior Lighting and Power | Jimmy (and Jacob), Zack B, Jiryis, and Raechel
- 7:30-8:00: HASTAC Proposal | Zachary K-G
- 8:00-8:30: Glazing Removal and Replacement | Alyssa, Grant, Lisa, and Lia <– this is the change, just moved this group forward.
- 8:30-9:30: Creative Activity meetings by request (book with Liz) <– no bookings so far! please let us know.
One non-bulleted stream of thought. We probably have too many individual projects. Zachary K-G’s exceedingly excellent notes should help remind you of everyone’s interests. Could some more of you come together into groups? Reach out to the ecologists in our midst. How might we leverage their expertise? (Lia, Achim Menges’ HygroScope is the biomimetic project I was thinking of.) Remember that our showcase will be ephemeral. How can you take best advantage of the pop-up format?
Lastly, note that your creative activity proposal (due November 23) doesn’t need to lock in a finished project. Rather, it just needs to describe the experiment(s) you intend to pursue in December (and any associated needs/tools/costs). Let the work emerge; let it be inflected by the place.
I think that’s it. Liz, anything else to remind?
See half of you tomorrow,
—Jesse
ps. Yes Kate Bush. BB and ZKG, it’s gotta go up that hill. I think we can run it up there.
