February 27th, Bernardo Nipoti on Pitman-Yor Processes

Bernardo Nipoti, Assistant Professor of Statistics in the School of Computer Science and Statistics at Trinity College, Dublin, will deliver a lecture on Pitman-Yor Processes (aka two parameter Poisson-Dirichlet Processes)

on Tuesday, February 27th, 2018

from 11am to 12:20pm (regular class hours)

Given the number of talks we are having due to hiring, Dr. Nipoti will deliver his presentation as a special lecture in Stats 226. A special thanks to Dr. Weining Shen (Statistics) to have made this arrangement possible.

Dr. Nipoti has received his PhD in Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Pavia, Italy in 2011. He has held postdoctoral positions at the University of Texas, MD Anderson Cancer Center, at the University of Torino and the Collegio Carlo Alberto, Italy. He has joined Trinity College in the Winter 2016, where he is now the Course Director of the Data Science program within the Master in Computer Science.
