Title: Radiative Transport Modeling with Double Spherical Harmonics

Abstract: Optical imaging can provide effective and safe recovery of medical and biological information in vivo.  However, accurate property recovery relies on detailed, computationally efficient models of light propagation in biological tissue.  At length scales of interest to diffuse optical imaging, this propagation is governed by the radiative transport equation.  I present a new analytic solution to this equation, as well as preliminary results for homogeneous tissue layers.
