Title: Exploration of tools for studying metastasis of BRCA1-mutated breast tumors

Abstract:

Mutations in the BRCA1 gene typically give rise to metastatic triple-negative breast cancers with few treatment options. Genetically, these tumors have high intra-tumor and inter-tumor heterogeneity, making this cancer and it’s metastasis difficult to study. I will present the bioinformatics I used for analyzing single cell exome (DNA sequencing) data, the challenges of interpreting the results, and my ongoing quest to select a suitable mouse model for future -omics studies.
