Title: Towards the Identification of Critical State Transitions in scRNAseq Data

Abstract: In theory, scRNAseq data should provide a strong platform for the detection of “tipping points” from one cell state from another. However, due to the unique statistical properties of this type of data, standard statistics (such as the correlation coefficient) are not well suited for use in analysis. This talk will detail our efforts to develop a principled statistical basis by which we can identify critical state transitions in cell type from unnormalized scRNAseq data and future directions.
