KIA Pitch
The world of transportation and mobility is undergoing exponential change. Transportation is evolving as consumer needs and expectations change while technologies create new possibilities. Each day, companies, entrepreneurs, and engineers are launching new products, technologies, and platforms to address challenges and opportunities in this space.
The BMA is pleased to partner with KIA Motors to sponsor our first KIA Mobility Pitch Competition as part of the BMA Innovate23 Summit on Friday, May 5th and Saturday, May 6th. Open to all UCI students, the competition will provide teams with support to identify, develop and deliver their idea.
Finalists will present a 3-minute pitch to an esteemed panel of judges on Friday, May 5th, between 4:30pm – 6:00pm. The grand prize will be awarded on Saturday, May 6th, during the Innovate23 Summit Awards Luncheon.
Ready to join the competition? Here are the steps:
- Sign up as a team or individual – HERE
- Attend the Quick Start Workshop on Monday, May 1st, from 5:30pm -7:00pm in the Merage School. At least one team member must attend.
- Submit your Project Pitch by Thursday, May 4th at 9 a.m.
- Selected finalists will be notified by 5:00pm on Thursday, May 4th.
- Finalists will present their 3-minute pitch and address judges Q&A from 4:30pm – 6:00pm Friday, May 5th.
There are a few simple rules for the competition:
- All participants must be current UCI students.
- Individuals or teams (of any size) may participate.
- The idea must be original.
- The idea can have been submitted in other Pitch Competitions (including Stella Zhange NVC and Beall Butterworth competition).
- The idea needs to be pre-revenue and can’t have received investor funding above $50,000 (excluding research grants).
- Prize money will be subject to UCI financial aid rules and tax liability.
- Rule decisions will be made at the sole discretion of the KIA Pitch rules organizing committee.
