New Authors Widget for Group Blogs

One great feature of WordPress is the ability to have a group blog. Many people can participate as contributors, authors, or editors. We have just installed a widget plugin to make viewing posts by authors easier.

The Authors Widget is now available on all blogs. This simple widget will list all of your authors in a sidebar widget. You can change the display title from “Authors” to something more fitting to your blog’s purpose.

Using the Authors Widget

  1. In your blog’s Dashboard, go to Appearance > Widgets.
    Appearance > Widgets
  2. In the Widgets screen, select the Authors widget and drag it to to the Sidebar. Depending on your theme, you may have more than one Sidebar.
(Note: If you have never modified your widgets, when you drag a new one to a sidebar it may overwrite the theme’s defaultĀ  widgets. If this happens, you can easily add them back by dragging them back to the sidebar in your desired configuration.)

Thank you for the addition of the new Authors Widget for Blog@UCI. Now all I need to do is to go out and find some interested co-authors to help out with my blog. I am sure that many blogs may be enhanced with this additional widget.
