Brenda’s research examines the social, economic, and policy causes of racial/ethnic disparities in birth outcomes and infant health. She utilizes state-level and national-level longitudinal birth data to explore within-mother and population-level effects. Additionally, she investigates the mechanisms contributing to the heterogeneity of birth outcomes among Hispanic mothers by maternal nativity.
