Committees

Mentorship

The Mentorship Committee is vital to the fulfillment of BTG’s core mission of advancing students into careers in the sciences and healthcare. We believe that by pairing motivated college and high school students, we can leave an early and lasting impression that benefits both the mentor and mentee on their professional journeys. This group works collaboratively to run the STARS program, create trainings, evaluate mentors, and better the mentee-mentor experience, with a focus on how we can better serve the needs of students from disadvantaged communities. Members who take part in this group appreciate and understand the power of mentorship

Outreach and Service

The Outreach and Service committee is tasked with ensuring BTG maintains a strong tie to the local and extended community. This group provides members of BTG with opportunities to engage in service in a variety of areas including humanitarian, environment, and health-related service. Additionally, they help in recruiting mentors and mentees for the STARS program. Members of O&C are often passionate about community work, public health, and collaboration.

Resources

The Resources Committee is dedicated to the collection and dissemination of resources for students that relate to career-readiness, academic success, research, professional development, among other things. In addition to these areas, the committee compiles information related to basic needs.
