How do I know if one of my classes is using the UCI Canvas Pilot?

If you have a class participating in the Pilot, once the course space is available, you will see an additional link on MyEEE.

How do I access my courses on Canvas?

If you have a class participating in the Pilot, once the course space is available, you will see an additional link on MyEEE.

Does this mean that EEE is going away?

No — the campus is evaluating Instructure Canvas as an additional instructional technology offering. The EEE team will continue to maintain and support the existing EEE toolset for the campus, including the evaluation toolkit (instructor evaluations, EaterEvals) and other campus-specific solutions.

How do I share my feedback about Canvas?

If you in a class participating in the Pilot, you will have the opportunity to share your feedback about Canvas by participating in three assessments — one before, one during, and one after the quarter.

You can also send us your feedback at any time.

Submitting instructor evaluations

Instructor evaluations will be submitted via the EEE Evaluations tool, as with your other classes. You will receive an email when evaluations are available for submission.


Tips for Using Canvas

Uploading files to an assignment

Uploading files is different than on EEE. Here’s the fastest way we’ve found to upload a file to an assignment:

  1. Navigate to your course space (easiest way is by clicking the “Canvas course space” on MyEEE)
  2. Click on “Assignments” on the course navigation on the left
  3. Click on the assignment
  4. Click on “Submit an Assignment” on the top right
  5. Upload your assignment by following the prompts on-screen

Check on quiz submissions

Checking on quiz submissions is different than on EEE. Here’s the fastest way we’ve found to make sure you’ve submitted a quiz:

  1. Navigate to your course space (easiest way is by clicking the “Canvas course space” on MyEEE)
  2. Click on “Quizzes” on the course navigation on the left
  3. Click on the quiz:
    • If you see a blue “Take the Quiz” button and no “Attempt History” table, then you haven’t started the quiz yet.
    • If you see a blue “Resume Quiz” button, then you started the quiz but haven’t turned it in yet.
    • If you see an “Attempt History” table, then you’ve turned in the quiz (more details about your submission are viewed below the table.

View your assignment scores

  1. Navigate to your course space (easiest way is by clicking the “Canvas course space” on MyEEE)
  2. Click on “Grades” on the course navigation on the left to view all your assignment scores and current total score, or
