Platform

The CareDEX platform is built on top of the TIPPERS system. An award-winning sensor data management middleware technology for emerging smart-space applications developed as part of the DARPA program at UC Irvine.

The design of a CareDEX deployment begins with the creation of a smart space and its digital twin.

This encapsulates the online representation of the physical space, individuals, and activities.

In the envisioned system, data about the senior health facility, and its residents is locally held at the organizational machines, but periodically (e.g., every night) migrates to the secure storage in the cloud where it can be accessed based on policies associated with data usage. The hybrid cloud paradigm allows local computing infrastructure at organizations to integrate with public cloud services and construct secure and economical data processing solutions.

Adding specialized semantic queries and displaying (facility and regional) results on the dashboard.
