1. Looking for money for graduate school? The deadline (11/15/07) is approaching for the Ford Predoctoral Fellowship which funds 3 years of a fellowship leading to a Ph.D. or Sc.D. degree in behavioral and social sciences, humanities, engineering, math, physical sciences, or biological sciences for underrepresented minorities who intend a career in academia. 2. The National Security Education Program David L. Boren Undergraduate Scholarships and National Flagship Language Program Info Session is coming soon. It will be held November 29th from 3-5 PM in Room 1010 of the Student Services II building (the same building as the Honors Office). Two representatives from NSEP will be coming specially to answer any questions you may have about the scholarships.
According to NSEP, they “provide funding for U.S. students to study world regions critical to U.S. interests (including Africa, Asia, Central & Eastern Europe, Eurasia, Latin America & the Caribbean, and the Middle East). The countries of Western Europe, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand are excluded. The Boren Fellowship allows graduate students to add an international component to their graduate studies. The National Flagship Language Program is a two-year program for students of Arabic, Chinese, Korean, Persian, and Russian to pursue advanced language training to reach the professional (superior) level.
