Looking for a unique learning opportunity in a small group? Curious about what faculty research here at UCI? Want to do something fun and get credit for it?
Consider a FRESHMAN SEMINAR.
Covering a range of topics, these one-unit courses allow you to get to know a faculty member and their research in a small-enrollment course. They offer a perfect opportunity to explore ideas and topics you’re interested in, as well as cultivate a professional relationship with a professor who might serve later as a reference. Ten topics are being offered Winter 2020 under course number UNI STU 3. Seminars meet just once a week.
For more information, and to see topics for next term’s seminars, visit http://freshmanseminar.uci.edu/.
Feel free to contact associate dean Jonathan Alexander at jfalexan@uci.edu for more information.

Teacher Recognition Program
You should have received an email from Dean Sharon Salinger, asking you to nominate your favorite high school teacher or counselor for the Teacher Recognition Program. If you have not yet done so, please take a few minutes to go to the website and nominate the teacher/counselor who inspired you the most in high school. Last year, the teachers nominated by CHP freshmen were honored at a special event held at UCI’s University Club. If you have ever wanted to say “thank you” to that special teacher who most significantly contributed to your high school education, now is your chance. Please make your nomination today! (Deadline for nominations is December 18.)
