Halloween is just around the corner, and we are turning over our costume decision to you, the CHP students! Come to Coffee Hour in the Locus this Friday, October 13 between 9:00 and 11:00 a.m. to place your vote for which of the following will be the CHP Office staff’s group costume this Halloween:
A. Crayons
B. Spice Girls
C. Superheroes
D. Stranger Things kids
First-Year Transfer Students: Come to the MANDATORY fall CHP Transfer Workshop on Monday, Oct. 23 from 4:30-6:00 p.m. OR Tuesday, Oct. 24 from 4:30-6:00 p.m. in Student Services II, room 1010. Attendance is REQUIRED. The workshop will cover course planning, building relationships with faculty, and campus resources; it will provide you the opportunity to reconnect with fellow CHP students. A light dinner will be served. Please sign up for one of the MANDATORY Workshops online by Wednesday, Oct. 18.
Continuing Transfer Students: We need you to volunteer for this year’s Fall CHP Transfer Workshop! First-year transfer students will appreciate hearing your insights into being successful at UCI (over a light dinner)! Volunteers are needed to attend the last part of the workshop: 5:30-6:00 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 23 and/or Tuesday, Oct. 24. Please fill out this online sign-up sheet to let us know when you are able to help out. Thanks!

Upcoming Scholarship Deadlines:
Truman Scholarship: 11/1/17 at noon
Juniors may apply for the Harry S. Truman Scholarship for senior year and three years of graduate study in preparation for public service careers in government, nonprofits, uniformed services or education.
Goldwater Scholarship: 11/1/17 at noon
Sophomores and Juniors may apply for the Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship for undergraduates intending a research career in mathematics, the natural sciences, computer sciences, or engineering.
Carnegie Junior Fellows: 11/6/17 at noon
Graduating seniors may apply for Carnegie Endowment for International Peace James C. Gaither Junior Fellows research internships in Washington D.C. on democracy building, energy and climate change, international economics, nuclear policy, cyber policy, and area studies.
