An: Wednesdays 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM.
Location: Ayala Science Library, 1st Floor in the Writing Center. Please check in at the front desk.

Advising Appointments: If you are interested in one-on-one advising for any scholarships, you can schedule an appointment to meet with an advisor. Please view Advising Appointments for more information on how to set up an appointment. Our office is open Monday – Friday from 8:00 – 4:00 pm at the Writing Center of Ayala Science Library.

Upcoming Workshops

The Scholarship Opportunities Program (SOP) is hosting their annual scholarship informational workshops this coming February! These workshops is intended to acquaint highly-motivated and academically successful undergraduate students in applying for nationally-competitive awards. These workshops address: writing a compelling personal statement, obtaining strong letters of recommendation, and accessing helpful resources such as writing a Curriculum Vitae (CV).

Workshop Round 1 (Week 5 – February 6, 2018): 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM (Arts, Humanities, Soc. Sci, Soc Ecology) & 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM (STEM)

Workshop Round 2 (Week 6 – February 13, 2018): 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM (Arts, Humanities, Soc. Sci, Soc Ecology) & 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM (STEM)

Workshop Round 3 (Week 7 – February 20, 2018): 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM (International Students) & 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM (Health, Business and Policy)

NAR Snowy Day Contest

In the spirit of winter, NAR is holding our Snowy Day Contest! Submit written and visual art related to snow or winter to narchp@gmail.com! The best visual submission will land the cover of NAR’s Winter Issue, and we will choose multiple other winners from ALL art categories to be published! Submissions are due February 16th.

Volunteer at Honors Experience Day 2018!

Do you remember talking to CHP students at Honors Experience Day? This year’s Honors Experience Day will take place on Friday, March 9, 2018. It is UCI’s largest recruiting event for outstanding students who will graduate from high school in June. It gives UC Irvine faculty, students and staff the opportunity to tell honors recruits and their parents about what UCI has to offer highly qualified and ambitious students. Our guests hear from faculty, students and staff concerning the CHP and UCI. After the info session, schools hold recruitment events, where students learn what is offered in their major subjects. Following the school sessions, there will be honors housing tours available.

This event is not possible without the help of volunteers like you! Sign up to volunteer and make a difference for future anteaters.

Winter 2018 Faculty Coffee Hour Nominations

It’s the time of the quarter to start thinking about Faculty Coffee Hour! This will be held on February 23rd, the Friday of Week 7, so mark your calendars! This is one of CHP’s great events to interact and connect with faculty here on campus. We want to give you the opportunity to nominate faculty you would like to see at this event. A EEE survey is available in your toolbox for you to fill out. Please fill out the survey, and be ready to meet some new faculty! There are many new connections and engaging conversations to be had, so we hope to see you there!

DEADLINE EXTENDED – Represent the CHP at the Western Regional Honors Council Conference

DEADLINE EXTENDED – Represent the CHP at the Western Regional Honors Council Conference on April 14-15 in Orange, California! This two-day conference is an opportunity for students, faculty, and staff of honors programs across the western U.S. to come together to network, share research and ideas, and discuss current issues relevant to honors programs and honors education. The CHP may be able to provide registration funding for a limited number of students who are interested in attending or presenting at the conference. The deadline to complete the WRHC RSVP form has been extended to 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, January 28.
