Kasia Bitner is a senior in the CHP and will be having a Singing Recital this Friday for her thesis called “A Bit of Broadway and Opera.” All of CHP is invited to attend her performance on Friday, February 17th at 8 pm in Winifred Smith Hall. Admission is free so please come and support her if you can!
Thesis Proposals
CHP Thesis Proposals for SUMMER and FALL 2011 graduates are due by Friday of week 2 (Jan. 14th). If we don’t have a thesis proposal on file for you yet, please bring a hard copy to the CHP office as soon as possible. The thesis proposal format can be found online.
Attention Juniors
If, according to our records, you will be graduating at the end of winter, spring, or summer 2012, then it is time for you to meet with an honors advisor to go over your research/thesis plans and senior year. Regardless of the status of your research/senior plans, this meeting will provide information that will be of great value to you in the upcoming quarters, as the meeting covers both the CHP research requirement and graduation. Please set up a meeting as soon as possible this quarter by calling the honors office at (949) 824-5461, or by coming in to schedule an appointment.
*Attention Graduating Seniors!*
Congratulations on nearly completing your degree! We would like to take this opportunity to remind all seniors graduating in spring 2010 of the final paperwork that needs to be submitted BY JUNE 30, 2010 in order to be certified as successfully completing the Campuswide Honors Program. Even if you have already submitted a hard copy of your thesis, please review the list below to make sure all of your paperwork is in order and for information about two surveys that we need you to complete before you graduate:
Submitted to the CHP Office in a protective cover*:
1. Final Approved Thesis
2. Thesis Abstract
3. SIGNED Thesis Approval Form (available on the CHP website: http://www.honors.uci.edu/documents/handbook/researchthesishandbookapxl.pdf)
*Students are charged $1 for theses without a protective cover

We will verify which students have completed their final paperwork in July. You will receive an e-mail in July once we have confirmed with the Registrar that you have been certified as completing CHP.
If you will NOT be able to complete the CHP research/thesis requirement please contact a CHP advisor no later than June 30, 2010 so that we may update your record with the Registrar. If your record does not accurately reflect your CHP status, then there may be delays in certifying/granting your degree.
