Outside of school, I offer private tutoring sessions in several subject areas. See the attached flyer and information below if you are interested in my services.
Why should you choose me as your tutor? I have considerable teaching experience as an undergraduate certified learning assistant (LA) and graduate teaching assistant (TA) at UCI. As a previous LA and current TA, I aid in the delivery of high-level course content to college students by:
- assisting in the delivery of larger class meetings and leading smaller class sections with undergraduate learning assistants and graduate teaching assistants.
- creating study materials, unique and original practice problems, and hosting exam review sessions.
- engaging students in active learning techniques in order for them to apply their knowledge to new situations.
- igniting a passion for STEM!
I have worked as a learning assistant for the following courses: data science/computer programming (MATLAB), geographic information systems, physics, and cryospheric science (see more here). I also have 2+ years of tutoring experience with high rates of success across all students. One of my greatest passions is teaching, so this experience, combined with tutoring, has been extremely rewarding.
A glimpse of what you get in my sessions:
- learning in a judgment-free zone.
- unique, custom-made practice problems and “exams” that solidify important concepts and have you apply your knowledge to new situations.
If you would like to schedule an in-person or Zoom tutoring session, please send me an email at cmchalme@uci.edu with the subject line “Tutoring Consultation.”
I am based in Irvine but am able to travel within a 10 to 15-mile radius. Your first session is FREE. After the first session, Zoom sessions are $35/hr, and in-person sessions are $50/hr.
If you have any questions or require clarification regarding my experiences, please do not hesitate to contact me or check out my social media pages listed on the image I attached. I am eager to aid you in achieving your goals.
